On the v5 pro my favorite thing was the flavor. I think the glass mouthpiece was a better option over the straw interms of flavor

I haven't personally owned a flowermate but have used a friend's pro many times and have been very impressed with the features and vapor quality for the price. I love the size and aesthetics of the device. The glass mouthpiece is so much better than the plastic which is so prevalent in the more affordable vaporizers. Also, the battery life is outstanding.The Nano even improves on this with replaceable batteries!
Considering the price to quality and attention to detail ratio, I really can't think of any negatives based on my relatively limited experience with the brand. The Nano has been on my shortlist of devices to acquire

I grind mine to a medium grind, pack it fairly tight into the oven (but i also use dosing caps as you dont have to faff around with cleaning the oven as often)...

I've been using a V5 Nano for almost 2 years and love it.
I put a small screen in the bottom of the oven to prevent anything blocking the air vents, as you describe, and a big screen on top of the herb to keep any bits from clogging the mouthpiece adapter.
